Dane County Parks, United Madison, Friends of Dane County Parks and the Village of McFarland invite you to help us celebrate our amazing parks and trails at an event designed to bring us ALL together! Join them at the Parks & Trails Unite Festival on June 2 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The Festival will take place in BOTH Lake Farm County Park and McDaniel Park, and includes the new Lower Yahara River Trail and boardwalk bridge that connects the two parks and provides an off-road trail connection between Madison and McFarland that didn’t previously exist.

This free community event will encourage unity, give us the opportunity to lift each other up to better understand and learn from each other, and celebrate our amazing parks and trails and the community connections that they provide. The festival will include live music, food carts, a one-day biergarten, cultural displays, activities for kids, and number of outdoor activities that festival attendees can try out for free, including: archery, rock climbing, pontoon rides, kayak tours, paddleboard lessons, nature hikes, disc golf, orienteering, and more!

A majority of the proceeds from this event will help build capacity of Dane County volunteers and the sixteen friends groups that support individual county parks.  A portion of the proceeds donated by event sponsors will benefit local nonprofit partners as well as support United Madison in their effort to support a unified, thriving community for EVERYONE.

June 2 is National Trails Day so no permit is required to use the bike trails that day. Attendees are encouraged to bike to the event and can visit the event website and plan their route to the festival. The first 500 people to arrive by bike will get a free custard voucher from Culver's! We encourage biking to the event! An easy park-and-bike route is available with free parking at the Alliant Energy Center.  Attendees can even bike to the event with Bombay Bicycle Club and Madison Bikes! There will also be accessible parking at the festival and all terrain wheelchairs available, provided by AccessAbility WI. There will also be a free shuttle from the Alliant Energy Center.

You can also volunteer your time to help make this event a success! You can sign up to volunteer at the Lake Farm County Park festival area or at the one-day festival biergarten hosted by the Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area.
