DANE COUNTY – Dane County Executive Melissa Agard is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, observed September 15 through October 15, and recognizing the many contributions Hispanic and Latino residents make throughout Dane County.

“Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate the cultures, traditions and stories that enrich Dane County,” said County Executive Agard. “Our Hispanic and Latino neighbors strengthen our communities through their leadership, creativity, entrepreneurship and service. I am grateful for all they contribute to making Dane County a welcoming and vibrant place to call home.”

Hispanic and Latino residents are an essential part of Dane County’s identity and future. Their contributions can be seen across the county in local businesses, schools, neighborhoods, government and community organizations.

The month also offers an opportunity to recognize the advocates and organizations working throughout the year to expand opportunity, preserve cultural traditions and ensure residents can access the resources they need to thrive.

“As we celebrate, we must also remain committed to building a county where every person feels valued, represented and able to succeed,” Agard said. “That means listening to community voicesand working together so opportunity reaches every corner of Dane County.”
