Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in the Town of Dunn

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in the 4300 block of Rutland-Dunn Town Line Road in the Town of Dunn.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:11 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle that had collided with a tree and was fully engulfed in flames. A 32-year-old male was found deceased after being ejected from the vehicle. He was the sole occupant.

A dog that was also in the vehicle was ejected and did not survive.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit, along with the Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit, responded to assist with the investigation.

The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time and will be provided by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office pending notification of family.

The crash remains under investigation.
