***UPDATE*** On Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Richard Vanderbloemen was located and arrested by Sun Prairie Police and was returned to the Dane County Jail.

 

AWOL

 

A Sun Prairie man on the jail diversion program has been declared AWOL.  Richard Vanderbloemen, age 43, was declared AWOL just after 7:15p.m. on Tuesday, November 25^th.

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies monitoring the program received an alert from his GPS bracelet and responded to check on him. Vanderbloemen had cut his bracelet and left it outside.

His last known location was in the area of W Main St/Clarmar Dr in the city of Sun Prairie. Vanderbloemen is 6’04” and approximately 180lbs, he has a goatee, and last seen to be wearing a grey sweatshirt, black pants, and a winter cap on his head. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Dane County Communications Center at 608-255-2345.
