Fatal Crash Town of Dane

Madison, WI- Saturday, October 11, 2025 - At approximately 6:35 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, Detectives, Crime Scene Unit, WI State Patrol Crash Recon, Waunakee Police, Waunakee Fire, EMS, Deforest Fire Department, and Deforest EMS and Lodi EMS responded to a head on crash on STH 113 at Lee Road in the Township of Dane.

Preliminary findings indicate a vehicle was traveling southbound on STH 113 and crossed the center line and hit a vehicle traveling northbound head-on. The 69 year old driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The 67 year old passenger in the northbound vehicle was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

STH 113 between Reppen Road and Viaduct Road is closed and traffic is currently being rerouted to allow crash investigators to reconstruct the crash. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased party after notifying the family.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
