DANE COUNTY — Dane County Executive Melissa Agard today thanked organizers, dairy industry leaders, exhibitors, visitors, community partners, and the hardworking staff at the Alliant Energy Center for making the 2025 World Dairy Expo another tremendous success in Dane County. The Expo once again brought together farmers, researchers, agribusinesses, youth organizations, and dairy enthusiasts from across the globe to celebrate and advance the dairy industry.
“We are proud to host an event that so powerfully embodies our region’s agricultural legacy, our innovation in dairy and food systems, and our bright future ahead,” said County Executive Agard. “The World Dairy Expo is more than a showcase of cattle and commodities – it’s a gathering of families, students, and global leaders who share a commitment to sustainability, science, and community.”
This year’s Expo was a celebration of Dane County’s proud agricultural heritage and a platform to highlight the innovation that continues to drive the dairy industry forward. With cattle shows, youth contests, trade exhibits, and educational seminars, the event honored traditions passed down through generations while also shining a spotlight on cutting-edge advances that will shape the future of agriculture.
Hosting the Expo provides significant benefits to the Dane County community. Each year, thousands of attendees, exhibitors, and vendors travel to Madison, creating a major economic boost for local hotels, restaurants, and small businesses. The event also enhances the county’s visibility on a global stage, drawing attention to Dane County’s leadership in agriculture, sustainability, and research. By connecting farmers, industry leaders, and students, the Expo helps strengthen partnerships, inspire the next generation, and grow opportunities in agriculture both locally and worldwide.
As part of this year’s Expo, County Executive Agard hosted a tour of the Alliant Energy Center campus for legislators and local leaders. The tour highlighted the importance of the World Dairy Expo to the region’s economy and agricultural heritage, while also underscoring the central role the Alliant Energy Center plays as a hub for community and economic activity in Dane County.
“I want to thank everyone who made this year’s World Dairy Expo possible — from the organizers and volunteers to the farmers, families, and visitors who came from near and far,” Agard said. “Special thanks also go to the dedicated staff at the Alliant Energy Center, whose hard work ensures this world-class event runs smoothly year after year. Together, we celebrated our past, showcased our present, and invested in the future of dairy and agriculture. Dane County is proud to be home to this event.”
